Rahul Gandhi and other top Indian Opposition had arrived in Srinagar earlier today. Their intentions were to assess the situation in Indian occupied Kashmir after BJP Government’s decision to remove article 370.
With curfew reaching its 20th day, in addition to blackout of all communications and the illegal rounding up of 2000 plus individuals; human rights situation in the valley has reached bottom low. Millions are facing uncertainty about their future, while thousands have broken curfew in protest. The result; hundreds maimed by pellet guns and dozens dead.
To get a look of the situation firsthand, eight senior leaders from Congress, Communist Party of India
and All India Trinamool Congress boarded a plane from New Dehli. On their arrival they were denied
entry out of the Airport.Â

Congress quickly condemned the detention of Opposition leaders on twitter and questioned the normalcy which Modi government and Indian army were claiming for weeks. Jammu and Kashmir media department stated on friday that no politicians will be allowed in the valley at a time where government trying to restore order.
Reports are coming in of media persons being aggressively handled by the Srinagar police & blocked from meeting with Opposition leaders delegation.

There were reports of the media being man handled by the Police, in the process of stopping their access to Rahul Gandhi and co.Â
